Long Version: In this document, ‘we’ refers to Made Purple Ltd (T/As Purple Visits) and its representatives. ‘You’ refers to visitors to our website, our customers and users of the Purple Visits mobile and or web application.

Who is responsible for your data?
Data collected within the purple visits is managed by Made Purple Ltd. Made Purple Ltd is responsible for making sure that your data is stored and processed safely. You can contact them us via email at Data-Privacy@purplevisits.com

Why do we process and store your data?
We need to store and process your data if you download our App or register with us online, to allow us to provide our services. This includes your name, contact details, and details of the person / people you would like to have secure virtual visits with etc. .

We will also require a photographic ID from yourself as the visitor that will be stored to ensure the prison can verify your identity.

We only store or process data which you have given directly to us and which we need to enable the appropriate establishment to offer your loved one a virtual visit option.

However, data gathered during a virtual visit including any and all security related data will be processed by us and accessible by the prison via secure web sockets.

How long will we keep your data?
We may need to keep your personal details until up to 6 years after you have deleted your account. After this date your data will be anonymised, unless you have ‘opted in’ to receive ongoing communications. Please contact the relevant prison to confirm how long they will hold onto the data you provide within the app as these may vary and could be significantly longer.

Who has access to your data?
Our data protection officer is responsible for managing access to the personal data we store. Generally speaking, only the data protection officer and authorised members of staff within made purple ltd and the prison will access your data from within purple visits. You will need to confirm how your data is handled with the prison whose contact details can be found online.

Some of the services we use will also store a copy of your data. For example, our email provider (who may keep a record of your email address) and any providers they use to provide their services. If you send your details over a social media platform, that platform may keep a copy of your messages.

Who else might your data be shared with?
We reserve the right to share your personal data with other third parties if required for legal reasons. For example, in the case of a request under the RIPA legislation, a tax audit, or to prevent fraud. All Data collected via the APP or any other form of communication will be available to the prison who’s ability to handle your data will be governed under their own privacy policy.

How can you see what data we store about you?
You have the right to request details on any data we store about you. We can send a copy of your data to the email address you entered when using our services. However please note that only the main account holder can request details of the data we hold on that account, service users listed under must request their data through the registered email address that we hold related to that account. At purple visits we will only be able to provide generic account data that we hold for you, to access any additional data you will need to get in touch with the data officer at the relevant prison to find out what their policy is in regards to releasing data.

How can you opt in or out of our marketing messages?
We NEVER send marketing messages to our users, However you may see from time to time relevant advertisements within the pages of our application. 

How does our website use cookies?

How do you make a complaint about our use of your data?
The Information Commissioners’ Office (ICO). is the authority for data protection in the UK. If you have an unresolvable problem with us and our use of your data, they are who you should contact.
